This blog discusses in detail about the challenge posed to our engineering team wherein we had to measure the strain at various stress locations of a newly designed and fabricated aircraft seat prototype. After brainstorming with the client about the objectives and outcomes expected after the tests, finally we provided the desired results which helped them in qualifying their prototype by the regulatory authorities for mass production.
Initially our client found it extremely difficult in hiring a professional agency who could provide end-to-end services right from recognising the existing challenges they are facing to measure strain, choosing the right sensors and systems required for the activity, arranging for trained manpower in executing the project, assisting them with the regulatory authorities in case of exigency and reporting the findings of the measurement.
After carefully examining the purpose of the measurement, our team carried out precision bonding of the gauges, routing out the extension wires to make sure every channel is properly monitored and the most challenging part is live monitoring and recording of the Von Mises stress during simulated loadings. The loadings were done in different orientation such as downward, sideward, aftward, upward, rearward using a hydraulic jack so that the protype is able to undergo the stresses in every scenario during the operation. With the help of advanced softwares provided by TML-Japan, complex calculations of Von Mises stress were done and all the stress values were well within the stipulated limit qualifying the seats for mass production to be supplied for aircraft manufacturers.
The system and sensors used by our team are calibrated as per NABL / NIST standards which represents the accuracy and reliability of our measurements irrespective of any industries which we work with. Our team is well trained and experienced in handling such On-site complex projects.
We take immense pride in proclaiming that our client were able to certify their indigenously designed and fabricated aircraft seats using our expertise in Quality assurance methodology and systems. Be it a big structure or as small as PCB board, we fit in to all the major industries where QA is paramount for the reliable manufacturing method adopted at the client site.
