What is an Accelerometer?

An accelerometer is a sensor that converts acceleration or vibration into a measurable electrical signal. It is used to detect motion changes, structural movement, shock, tilt, and dynamic forces across a wide frequency range from static (DC) levels to high-frequency vibrations
