MTS3000 – Restan HDRSM system (Fully Automatic)

  • Automatic system for measurement of residual stresses, MTS3000-Restan (acronym of Residual Stress Analyzer), patented, designed and developed by SINT Technology, allows full but simple residual stress testing by hole-drilling strain gauge method. Tests comply with ASTM E837 requirements for uniform and non-uniform stress distributions.
  • With a suitable acquisition strategy (fine hole-drilling) and an appropriate analysis method (Integral, Incremental or Influence Functions), it is also possible to back-calculate the residual stress variation with depth even very close to surface. Full control of the device during the drilling and the acquisition process guarantees high accuracy of the results and reduction of the measurement uncertainly connected with the measurements.
  • MTS3000-Restan system is a complete and customisable solution for any hole-drilling residual stress measurements: thanks to various configurations, it can be used in several testing conditions (Lab or field measurements) and with different materials including standard metals (Steel and Aluminium), advanced metal alloys (Nickel Alloys, Ti) and also, polymeric and composite materials. Testing configurations can be obtained simply by changing the drilling device and its dedicated microscope.

  • Semi-Automatic HDRSM system

    SINT Technology offers an economical option of semi-automatic system where the hole drilling has to be carried out manually and Automatic determination of the initial drilling point by electric contact feature is not available. Measurement of the actual hole diameter and eccentricity calculation feature unavailable in this configuration. Measurements can still be conducted. Possibility of human error without the above features is higher compared to Automatic one.
