TML Ring type Displacement Transducer is a precise, strain-gauge-based sensor made by Tokyo Measuring Instruments (TML) that uses a circular plate spring to measure small displacements (like 10-30mm) in structures or materials, converting mechanical deformation into electrical signals for monitoring and testing, often combined with data loggers for automated systems in civil engineering and research.
The transducer's tip presses against the structure being measured. When the structure moves (displaces), the internal round plate spring deforms. Strain gauges bonded to this spring detect the resulting stress. This stress is converted into an electrical signal proportional to the displacement, which can be recorded or analyzed.
The OU displacement transducer is a combination of a round plate spring and strain gauges. It is mounted with its contact tip pressed against a structure. When displacement occurs in the structure, the plate spring is deformed and an output proportional to the displacement can be output.
